Have you ever driven somewhere in a car, arrived, having driven to your destination and then wondered how you got there?
You may have watched a film, become so completely engrossed in it and during that time you just forget about the outside world!
You are in hypnosis and we all experience this on a regular basis.
Whilst driving, reading a book, or watching a film, you are not in a ‘sleep state’, but in an altered state of consciousness. You knew how you got to your destination and drove perfectly well and you remember the content of the book or film.
Have you ever tried to change a fear or a habit, sometimes you may have found that your subconscious mind resisted, this is why we sometimes need Hypnotherapy.
We need to be motivated to change permanently and we need to do this at a subconscious level.
Hypnosis can be amazingly effective and is often directly responsible for major changes in our life pattern.
If we were to look at Hypnotherapy in detail it goes back even as far as our Ancient past, even the Australian Aborigines have used hypnotic trance for thousands of years, as have other cultures and civilisations.
For modern-day purposes, the approach goes back to the 18th century, subsequently hypnosis has evolved into an advanced level of deeply satisfying, successful and natural form of therapy.
Hypnotherapy is a completely natural state of relaxation which involves relaxing into a state of mind, brought about by different sets of thought suggestions, changing perceptions and memory.
This increases the responsiveness to suggestions whereby we can accept these suggestions in order to achieve our goals.
Hypnosis is a fascinating, absorbing and relaxing experience and can be used to improve your general well being and functioning, both physically, mentally and emotionally.
It can also help to overcome so many different issues and concerns, including fears, anxieties, phobias and certain health issues.
As hypnosis is a completely natural therapy, once the client becomes gently relaxed, this in turn can create life changing benefits.
You can discover hidden strengths to help and support you achieve your goals, overcome worries and fears and obtain a sense of satisfaction and happiness we all deserve, to reach your ultimate goal.
You are in full control, there is nothing a therapist will do against your will, or that you object to.
Each session will last approximately one hour and depending on treatment, may require more than one or two sessions.
You will need an initial consultation in order to be given effective treatment, therapy will then be tailored to each client’s individual needs.
After the session the client should be very relaxed and calm and be provided with the tools they need to bring about the positive changes to transform their life with confidence and self-assurance.
I have always been intrigued by the human mind, how it functions and how we are so unique and diverse in our own way.
The fact that we are all so different and individual in our thoughts and our reasoning is what attracted me to Hypnotherapy.
Finding out that we can change our habits, overcome our fears and concerns by motivating a change at our subconscious level, purely by relaxing our minds is so powerful. The changes that are made can be lasting.
I feel passionately and strongly about continuing to learn about the power of our mind and how imagination can win over logic, bringing about positive, life changing effects.
Having come from an administration and sales background, and always willing to help people where I could, I came to a point in my life where I questioned my own self, where I was going, and finally made some fundamental life changing decisions to find out more about Hypnotherapy. I wanted to be fulfilled in the idea I could help people and bring about positive change in their lives.
I took a leap of faith at a later stage in my life as I felt drawn to the concept and idea of Hypnotherapy, together with Counselling Skills, this is where I would be at my happiest, being fulfilled in the idea I could help people with all sorts of conditions and circumstances.
I enrolled on a year’s course and qualified as a Hypnotherapist.
I have an AIM level 3 qualification in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills, and am fully insured.
I now run my own practice in the beautiful seaside village of Pevensey Bay in East Sussex.
I am a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. It is a requirement to adhere to, and abide by the society's strict code of practice and ethics. I am also a member of the Hypnotherapy Directory
In line with the National Hypnotherapy Society, I am expected to carry out continued personal development to expand my knowledge, skills and understanding, in order to benefit my clients.
In addition, I also attend training courses across the country to keep up to date with current procedures, practises and principles, not only for the benefit of ourselves, but to ensure our clients receive the best possible outcome.
By being a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society, I am on the register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, and as such, was set up by the government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public.
The Accredited Register Mark is recognition of members commitment to continuing high standards of the Society.
